The "Duraglas" logo, embossed in cursive on two sides, was discontinued in 1964 — though some bottles into the 1970s still carried it. The bottom's stippling pattern, which began in the 1940s and changed style by the 1970s, along with the C-2 plant code (believed to be Purex's Huntington, West Virginia plant), together help date this piece to the 1960s–1970s — though as with any dating estimate, we encourage collectors to do their own research if precision matters. Purex was founded in 1922 by Lionel S. Precourt and his son Ray, originally making bleach in their Los Angeles garage; the brand grew through decades of acquisitions and mergers before Dial discontinued the Purex Bleach product in the 1990s.
