The kind of bell that earns a shelf all to itself.
This emerald green art glass bell — believed to be Czech Bohemian, possibly from Glassexport, the umbrella exporter of Czechoslovakian glass — is covered in hand-painted gold encrusted flowers on three sides, gold filigree all around the body, and gold striping at the rim and handle. It's a genuinely rare piece; we searched extensively and found nothing like it. The green is bright and sunny — beautiful at Christmas, but equally stunning in spring or summer light. A small area of gold wear on the handle is the only note.
A significant find for the art glass collector, the Czech glass enthusiast, or anyone who loves objects that announce themselves without trying.
