A very rare find. This mid century ashtray from the Golden Gate Casino is a hard to find, retro green glass with pink pyroglaze letters. Originally named The Miller Hotel, it is the oldest hotel on Fremont Street. In 1931 they expanded the hotel and renamed it the Sal Sagev (which is "Las Vegas" spelled backwards). It wasn't until 1955 that the Golden Gate Casino opened on the ground floor of the hotel, and in 1974 the entire property, hotel and casino, was renamed the Golden Gate Hotel and Casino.

A great piece of Nevada's gaming history, tourist industry memorabilia, and a great collector's item.
