Today it works beautifully as a large catchall dish, a decorative centerpiece on a bar or coffee table, a key bowl by the door, or a striking shelf display on its own. A wonderful find for a Blenko collector, a mid-century art glass enthusiast, or anyone whose home deserves one genuinely spectacular piece of American glass.
This is a vintage Blenko Glass starburst-ribbed piece in deep emerald green — a large, substantial art glass form produced at the Blenko factory in Milton, West Virginia, confirmed in the 1970 Blenko catalog. Unmarked, as is typical of Blenko's production pieces. The design radiates from the center in bold cut ribs that catch and fracture light across the room — the kind of effect that only heavy, hand-crafted art glass can achieve. Blenko Glass Company has been making hand-crafted art glass in Milton, West Virginia since 1893 — one of the oldest and most respected American art glass manufacturers still in operation. Their mid-century pieces are among the most actively collected in American decorative glass, with catalog-confirmed pieces commanding particular interest from serious collectors.
