This original Omar Quality inner box label depicts an Arabian prince in fine robes seated on a prayer rug beside his ornate travel tent, surrounded by scrolls and objects of luxury, with flowers, palm trees, and men on camels in the background. Marked with the phrase “The Nation's Sensation” beneath the Omar name, framed by a border of embossed gilded roping, scrolls, and two golden genie lamps. American Tobacco Company was founded in 1890 and became one of the largest tobacco companies in American history, manufacturing the Omar brand among dozens of famous brands from its New York headquarters until closing in 1957. Consolidated Lithographing Corporation was founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1925 by Jacob A. Voice and became one of the largest printers of paper labels in America in the early 20th century.
