"Prettiest leaf I ever did see."
In 1940, Lucky Strike ran a series of ads built around real tobacco buyers and farmers speaking reverently about their leaf — and this one, featuring buyer Fred Evans and tobacco farmer Barnes, is among the rarest we've found. The campaign leaned into authenticity long before that became a marketing concept. The reverse carries a full-page Coca-Cola ad offering a flower arranging book — a glimpse of a very different promotional era.
A compelling piece for tobacciana collectors, advertising historians, or anyone drawn to the layered Americana of mid-century print. Frames beautifully; gifts well for the collector who has everything.
