Peanuts with a flair — and suspenders on the back.
In the late 1920s, the Curtis Candy Company — makers of Baby Ruth — introduced CHICOS Spanish Peanuts and gave them a campaign full of Latin bravado. This full-color, full-page spread from Country Gentleman magazine announces "Now Señores!" with characteristic charm. The reverse is the real surprise: a rare black-and-white advertisement for Nu-Way Suspenders, "The Newest Thing in Suspenders," from a Michigan manufacturer that operated from 1918 to 1982 — a genuinely uncommon find.
Two pieces of American commerce from 1929, on a single untrimmed page. A wonderful gift for food ephemera collectors, fashion historians, or anyone who loves the oddity of vintage advertising.
