A candy snack on one side, a painting on the other.

This double-sided page from the May 1929 American Boy features a full-color painting by Albin Henning, the German-born illustrator who painted American Boy covers from 1929 to 1938 and whose work appeared in the Saturday Evening Post, Ladies Home Journal, and Life magazine.  This is the actual magazine's cover page.  The other side has a CHICOS Spanish Peanuts advertisement. A piece of American illustration history, backed by one of the era's most spirited snack campaigns.

Note: the cover retains its original mailing label, steamable or trimmable without affecting the artwork.
