A stylized tulip-like bloom and scrollwork are etched into each goblet, the kind of Early American country floral that looks like a hand-stenciled folk-art design. The smoky brown glass, with its tinted stem and foot, gives them an earthy warmth that suits farmhouse, cottage, and country table settings.

Pfaltzgraff began in 1811, when German immigrant potters set up a wheel and kiln in York County, Pennsylvania. The business became official in 1889, when brothers George and Henry Pfaltzgraff formed a partnership that grew into The Pfaltzgraff Co. The company is best known for its stoneware, including patterns like Folk Art, Yorktowne, and Village, and this glassware carries the Village name. In the 1970s Pfaltzgraff began selling to higher-end department stores, and its line later grew to include glassware, flatware, and kitchen tools.
