  • Pattern:  Melons and Wine
  • Vintage: 1950's
  • Details:   These is a large set of Mid Century salt and pepper shakers, large because they are 5.5 inches Tall, that's a lot of seasoning!  These were all the rage in the 1950's and are highly collectible today.  They are made of light wood and hand painted with what could be interpreted as a Summer theme, or even an Italian theme.  There are cut melons as well as a bottle of Chianti with its traditional Italian basket holder.  The word Salt and Pepper are stamped in block letters. They still have their original stoppers and are stamped JAPAN on the bottom.  If you look very closely, they both have tiny remnants of their original red and gold foil labels but there's really no way to tell who made them.  Great for a picnic, or any outdoor gathering.  We could also see them at your next pizza party or Italian themed get-together.  Perfect retro-kitchen decor!
