• Details:  A very nice lithograph of a Yellow Globe Turnip on this seed packet from the Dodson Seed Store in Danville, IL.  These are old stone lithographs printed by Stecher-Traung Lithograph in Rochester, New York.  The beautiful images on the envelopes were printed between 1936 and the mid to late 1940's with price and descriptions left blank to be added later.  We also offer 4 seed packets of your choice, mounted in country/farmhouse aesthetic wood frames. • Condition:  Vintage - New Old Stock.  Excellent Condition.  These packets were intended to be filled with seed but were never used.  There is slight yellowing on the paper but that is consistent with its age.  Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns.  Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear and imperfections. 

Dodson Seed Store was located at 204 W. Main St., Danville, Illinois for many years.  The store was known for being the only in this area that packaged their own seed.  Mrs Dodson sold more than just seed, she also sold pet supplies, china vases and knickknacks, mostly high end products not found in the dime stores of the day. By the 1970's the store was in decline, when the David S. Palmer Arena was built, the store relocated to Liberty Lane and closed a short time after that.

The Stecher Lithograph in Rochester, New York, was a major printer of catalogs, posters, and labels for the Rochester seed and packing industries.  The company was acquired in 1936 by the Traung Lithographic Company of San Francisco to form Stecher-Traung with their main production facilities in San Francisco.
