This is an original Belgian spirits bottle label — a circa 1930s–1950s chromolithograph for Genever Genievre, NGSF Brugge, Maison J. Desmet-Maertens of Bruges, Belgium. It has never been used, never wrapped a bottle, and is New Old Stock in excellent mint condition.
Frame it as European bar decor, as a piece of Belgian spirits history, or alongside its red companion label (U145, also available) for a striking two-piece display in matching frames — the red and blue versions of the same distillery, the same tower, two entirely different moods. At 5.5 by 3.5 inches it suits a small standard frame. A wonderful gift for a gin or genever enthusiast, a Belgian heritage collector, a vintage European label collector, or anyone building a bar wall with something genuinely rare on it.
The label is the rarer and more distinctive of the two NGSF Brugge labels. Same tower, same wheat, same Bruges skyline — but in deep blue with an extraordinary platinum gilding that catches the light entirely differently from gold. Platinum gilding on a spirits label from this era is genuinely unusual; the effect is cooler, more restrained, more elegant. Genever, sometimes spelled Genievre, is the Dutch-Belgian ancestor of gin, a juniper-forward spirit with deep roots in Bruges and the Low Countries. This label wears that heritage well.
