The Early American pattern from International Silver is one of those designs you recognize immediately once you know it — notches and swirls all along the border, formal without being fussy, and just traditional enough to suit almost any table. An advertisement from 1927 places this pattern in production from at least that year; the ISC hollowware business was sold to Oneida in 1981, which dates this piece to before that transition.

While the gravy boat is a more modern, utilitarian vessel built for the motion of pouring, the classical French saucière is an anchor of stationary elegance. It sits gracefully upon the table—a footed basin fused to its own protective tray—designed to be courted with a silver ladle.  The saucière form is one of the most practical serving vessels ever designed. Use it for gravy, but also for syrups, sauces, dressings, or anything pourable. Shiny but benefits from a good polish.

A beautiful piece for a silverplate collector, a holiday buffet, or a home that believes a good table deserves proper serving pieces.
