The saucière is one of the most elegant forms in the silversmith's repertoire — and International Silver's Camille pattern wears it beautifully. The boat itself is clean and architectural, with an Art Deco sensibility; the attached oval underplate is bordered in roses, a softer counterpoint to the boat's restraint. Made by ISC between roughly 1900 and the 1940s, this piece carries the quiet authority of American silverplate at its peak.

While the gravy boat is a more modern, utilitarian vessel built for the motion of pouring, the classical French saucière is an anchor of stationary elegance. It sits gracefully upon the table—a footed basin fused to its own protective tray—designed to be courted with a silver ladle.  Not just for gravy: equally at home serving hollandaise, salad dressing, warm caramel, or a drawn butter for an occasion that deserves one. Add a pretty ladle and it becomes a centerpiece of the buffet table.

A refined gift for a hostess, a home that entertains with intention, or a collector of American silverplate holloware.
