Crate Label, Lake Wenatchee Pears, Blue, Original Lithograph, NOS, Vintage

• Vintage circa 1950's.  
• Details:   A very colorful label of Lake Wenatchee brand pears.  The pears look so good, you actually wish you could eat one.  There's also a great rendition of the lake itself with the Cascade Mountain Range in the background and a small wood cabin on the bottom right.   This label has a gorgeous blue margin, these were found at the Cascoa Growers in Cashmere, WA and are in excellent, unused condition, framing is recommended to maintain this condition.  Collecting labels has become a very popular hobby, mainly because of the many beautiful and unique images/artwork that can be found.  If this is your hobby, we have lots more labels available, please feel free to browse.

Lake Wenatchee  is part of the Lake Wenatchee State Park, a recreation area located in Chelan County, in Washington State.  It is a snowmelt-fed lake from the nearby eastern slopes of the Cascades Mountain Range.  The lake offers 12,623 feet of waterfront, and a variety of fresh water activities, including fishing, water skiing and in winter, the park is used for cross-country skiing, dog sledding, and snowmobiling.  The Lake Wenatchee area has been home to several Indian tribes including the Wenatchee Indians, hence, the name. They hunted, fished, and picked berries throughout the area, often making camp along the rivers where the salmon ran.   When the first pioneers settled here, farming and logging were the main industries supporting them. Back then the valley was covered with a thick, old growth forest so trees had to be cut and stumps removed to have land for farming.  The Wenatchee River was used to float the logs down to Leavenworth in the spring.   From the Great Northern Railroad to the Wenatchee Indians, (also spelled Wenatchi), this area is rich in historical facts.   This area leads North America in production of winter storage pears, especially D’Anjou and Bosc pears.
