Celery / Relish Dish, Indiana Glass, Fluted Colonial #125, Starburst Center, Scalloped Rim, Soda Fountain, Antique 1911

A pressed glass oval with a starburst at the center and a scalloped rim — made for soda fountains in 1911, and still the right shape for anything long and elegant on a table.

This pattern has a layered history worth knowing: it began as McKee Glass's Pattern #24 Colonial, first appearing in the 1859 McKee catalog on an urn with lid. Indiana Glass later adopted it as Pattern #125, also known as Fluted Colonial, producing it from 1911 onward for the restaurant, hotel, and soda fountain trade — which explains both the generous oval form and the practical depth. The pressed starburst on the base catches light beautifully from below. Note: there is one tiny chip on the rim — captured in the zoom photos; not visible in wider shots.

Still perfectly suited to its original purposes — celery, asparagus, relish — and equally charming for bread, crackers, a baguette, or even a retro banana split presentation. Priced to reflect the condition; the chip is genuinely minor.
