Midwinter earthenware plates in the Madalyn pattern have survived intact, their pink and dark pink roses and smaller yellow blooms as lovely as ever against the semi-swirled, indented border that gives the shape its graceful, almost hand-formed feel.

Made in Burslem, England between 1932 and the 1940s, Madalyn is a rare pattern — genuinely hard to find, especially in sets. The earthenware (ironstone) construction gives these plates a satisfying weight and warmth that bone china doesn't have.
