Daisy-like flowers, graceful stems and leaves, etched into clear glass with the kind of delicacy that makes you want to hold it up to the light. Seven inches tall, slender, and in absolutely perfect condition. The original manufacturer sticker is still on the vase: "Cameo Crystal, Hand-Cut, Made in Turkey."
Turkey has a long and serious tradition of artisan glasswork — this piece is part of a wave of Turkish reproduction cameo glass that emerged in the 1990s, produced by sandblasting through stencils to achieve the layered floral effect. Not to be confused with antique cameo glass (which was acid-etched by hand and commands very different prices), but genuinely lovely in its own right and very well executed.
