Bing & Grondahl was started in 1853 by Vilhelm Grondahl, a figurine maker for the Royal Danish Porcelain Factory, with the brothers, Meyer and Jacob Herman Bing, who were book and art dealers. In 1898, Bing & Grondahl chose the three towers as it's factory brand, which symbolizes their connection to Copenhagen. This vase is from the company's Seagull series (issued in 1892).  B&G are best known for their Christmas blue & white plate series, started in 1895 and continued to this day.   In 1987 the company merged with its primary competitor, the Royal Porcelain Factory under the name Royal Copenhagen.
