The Wm Rogers Eagle and Star mark is one of the more dateable signatures in American silverplate: any piece bearing it was made between 1825 and 1841, making this a true antique by any measure. The #419 hollowware designation is stamped on the base alongside the marks.

Wm Rogers was among the earliest American silverplating names, and the Eagle and Star mark identifies this piece as coming from the company's very first period of production, before many of the naming and merger changes that would later fold Rogers into the broader International Silver Company.
