Over 180 years old, and still recognizably beautiful — this reticulated oval tray is marked with the Eagle and Star of Wm Rogers.

  • Maker: Wm Rogers
  • Materials: Silverplate
  • Origin: USA
  • Era: Antique, 1825–1841 (Eagle & Star mark #419)
  • Dimensions: 12.5" long × 7.5" wide
  • Condition: Good — some staining, pitting, and worn silver consistent with age; surface scratches visible throughout. Please review photos closely before purchasing, as all sales are final.

The Wm Rogers Eagle and Star mark is one of the more dateable signatures in American silverplate: any piece bearing it was made between 1825 and 1841, making this a true antique by any measure. The #419 hollowware designation is stamped on the base alongside the marks.

Beautiful on a brunch or breakfast table for bread or rolls, equally at home as an entry-table catchall, a candy dish, a small display tray, or — given its age — a museum-quality accent for a collector's shelf.

Wm Rogers was among the earliest American silverplating names, and the Eagle and Star mark identifies this piece as coming from the company's very first period of production, before many of the naming and merger changes that would later fold Rogers into the broader International Silver Company. A tray surviving in usable condition from this early window is a genuine rarity.
