Over 180 years old, and still recognizably beautiful — a reticulated oval bread tray marked with the Eagle and Star of Wm Rogers.

The Wm Rogers Eagle and Star mark is one of the more dateable signatures in American silverplate: any piece bearing it was made between 1825 and 1841, making this a true antique by any measure. The #419 hollowware designation is stamped on the base alongside the marks. The lattice design — open, repeating, graceful — is the kind of work that defined American silverplate at its most aspirational. There are condition notes consistent with this age; please see below.

A remarkable find for a silver collector, a meaningful heirloom gift, or a statement piece on a sideboard or entry table.
