This one can be dated almost to the year. The Citrus Tower opened in 1956 — it's here. Cape Canaveral is labeled Cape Kennedy — that name was used only from 1963 to 1973. Disney World is absent, as it wouldn't open until 1971. Which places this cheerful, colorful Florida souvenir tray squarely in a seven-year window: 1956 to 1963.

Made in Japan, nearly 11.5 inches across, with cities, beaches, sailboats and landmarks filling every corner in vivid color, it is a snapshot of mid-century Florida tourism at its most exuberant. Display it in a coastal home, use it as a serving tray, or gift it to anyone who loves Florida history, vintage travel memorabilia, or the art of the souvenir.

A genuinely datable piece of Americana — rarer than it looks.
