Before Disney World. Before Cape Kennedy became Cape Canaveral again. This Florida souvenir tray — white landmarks and orange blossom detail on a deep black ground — captures the Sunshine State as it was in the 1950s–60s, with a propeller plane over the coastline and Marineland still very much on the map.

  • Material: Steel with tin coating (lithographed)
  • Dimensions: 11" diameter
  • Origin: Japan
  • Era: 1950s–1960s (estimated; pre-1971, no Disney World shown)
  • Condition: Good vintage. Some paint loss, rust, and scratches — primarily on the back. No dents. Please review all photos — all sales final.

Made in Japan, 11 inches across, with the state's cities and points of interest rendered in careful detail, it is both a functional tray and a small piece of Florida history. The kind of thing that prompts stories: I remember when that was there. Display it, use it, or give it to the Florida lover in your life who appreciates the state before the theme parks arrived.

A charming coastal and nostalgia collectible, and a conversation piece wherever it lands.

Souvenir trays like this one were mass-produced in Japan for the American gift shop trade throughout the mid-20th century, giving tourists an affordable, decorative way to bring a destination home — the landmarks depicted, including the pre-1971 absence of Disney World, place this piece firmly in Florida's pre-theme-park tourism era.
