A large oval tray made by INOXBECK of Italy, built the way Italian mid-century "butler trays" were meant to be — the handles pressed from the same sheet of steel as the tray itself, not welded on later.
- Maker: INOXBECK
- Materials: 18/10 Stainless Steel
- Dimensions: Oval, 25" long x 16" wide overall; tray only (not including handles) 20" long
- Origin: Italy
- Era: Vintage, 1970s–1980s
- Condition: Very good vintage condition, surface scratches acceptable due to heavy use/wear, consistent with age, more visible on the back; no dents. Please review photos closely before purchasing, as all sales are final.
Marked on the back: INOXBECK 18/10, Made in Italy, mm 0.8. The 0.8mm gauge steel was engineered to stay rigid under a full load of food while remaining light enough to carry comfortably — INOXBECK used this thinner, premium-grade stainless on its serving and hollowware lines specifically for that balance.
Best hand-washed rather than run through the dishwasher — high heat and harsh detergents dull the mirror finish over time, and anything containing citric acid (lemon or orange extracts) can leave permanent cloudy spots on vintage Italian steel.
INOXBECK operated independently as a mid-to-late 20th-century Italian flatware and hollowware maker before becoming a brand name under hardware firm La Becchetti Giacomo of Brescia, known for decades of fine 18/10 stainless and gold-plated tableware. That division appears to have closed in December 2017, though the parent company continues in real estate and metal distribution.
