A Kromex chrome plated divided lazy Susan with five glass inserts, a piece of the atomic age, enjoyed as is with its honest wear.
Maker: Kromex
Materials: Chrome plated, with five glass inserts
Dimensions: 13.5 inches in Diameter
Origin: USA
Era: Vintage, 1957–1960s

There is lots of rust on the rim and underside, minor surface scratches visible as with all used plated metals, and light brown marks on the inside rim, which we tried to capture in the photos. The white blotches in some pictures are us trying to hide our reflections. Please review all photos carefully before purchasing, as all sales are final.
This beautiful Kromex lazy Susan has seen better days. Neglected, she has started to rust a bit, but we felt she still looked beautiful and deserved to be saved and enjoyed a few more years, with good care probably many more. These plated chrome pieces were all the rage during the atomic age and were used in all sorts of mid-century products. The glass inserts (5) are all in perfect shape. Some of you know how to get rust out of chrome plated pieces, but we feel that unless you're looking for perfection, it can be enjoyed as is. It will absolutely be an entertaining workhorse in your home.
Kromex was made by Alcoa Aluminum Company, started circa 1957. It became extremely popular but unfortunately was not manufactured for very long. Reynolds Aluminum bought Alcoa in the early 1960s. The Kromex line consisted of only kitchenware and serveware, but Reynolds was only interested in the industrial side of the business and phased out the Kromex line.
