This swizzle stick is topped with a whimsical cartoon camel, a "C" emblazoned on its hump, and ends in a pointed arrow tip rather than the more common rounded ball end. "Marriott's" appears in the brand's classic script, with "Camelback Inn" set in a bold contrasting font and "Resort & Golf Club" in smaller type below.  

A wonderful find for the swizzle stick collector, the Southwest travel enthusiast, or anyone with fond memories of a stay at Camelback Inn.

Camelback Inn opened in 1936 in Scottsdale, Arizona, the vision of founder Jack Stewart, who set out to offer travelers refined desert hospitality at the base of Camelback Mountain. In the late 1960s, frequent guest J.W. Marriott Jr. purchased the resort, making it the very first property in what would become the Marriott hotel portfolio — the beginning of the company as it's known today. The resort's golf offerings expanded with the Padre Course, which opened in 1966, giving rise to the "Resort & Golf Club" name that appears on this swizzle stick. Today the property continues as the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa, but pieces like this one recall its earlier era as Marriott's flagship destination resort.
