  • Vintage Framed Silhouette Reverse Painted Convex Glass, (Bubble / Concave Glass).  Victorian Woman Playing Piano by a Large Window, Picture Wall Art, Home Decor, Collectibles,  (Discontinued)
  • Made in USA
  • Vintage:  1930's - 1950's
  • Details:  This lovely vintage, reverse painted silhouette with concave glass, (aka convex & bubble glass), features a Victorian woman playing the piano by a large window.  She has a gorgeous gown and is accompanied by her dog.  The background is textured, in a beige tone, the frame is copper, with a hook on back for hanging.  The Benton Glass Co of Benton Harbor, MI was a huge producer of these images with thin metal frames, however this one is unmarked so we're unable to confirm. During the 1920's through the 1950's there was an increased nostalgia for the Victorian age, and these reverse painted silhouettes became very popular.  Today, silhouettes are back in style and can be mixed with other portraits, among wall plates, or displayed on their own.  This one is in wonderful condition, would make a great gift for a piano teacher or player.
