A shallow pan with a long handle and a lid topped by the rose bud, finished with the hammered texture that gives hand-forged aluminum its look. Light to hold and easy to use at the table. The maker's name is embossed on the underside. Not dishwasher safe; hand wash only with a mild dish soap.

Handy for clearing crumbs between courses, and an original hostess gift for anyone who loves mid-century entertaining.

Hammered aluminum giftware was a mid-century favorite. Aluminum felt thoroughly modern, while the hammered finish carried the appeal of handwork, and makers turned out trays, casseroles and crumb catchers in rose, pine and grape motifs. The silent butler was a staple of the style: a table-side helper for sweeping up crumbs and, in the smoking era, ashes from the dining table and near the ashtrays. Today it has a simpler job, and does it with more charm than any modern crumb brush.
