The details matter — and Hazel Atlas collectors know it.
Hazel Atlas called this pattern Newport, though many list it as Hairpin — and what's commonly sold as "milk glass" is actually something more refined: Platonite, Hazel Atlas's proprietary opaque glass produced from 1936 to 1940. It is more translucent than true milk glass and stronger too. These footed shakers are unmarked, as was typical, but unmistakably genuine. The glass is in excellent condition; the metal lids show significant wear and corrosion from salt and age, which is characteristic and fully photographed.
A serious collector's piece, or a handsome addition to a vintage kitchen with an eye for American Depression-era glassware. For the buyer who appreciates the difference between milk glass and Platonite.
