  • Pattern: E-5816 "Kissing Dutch Boy and Girl"
  • Vintage: 1960's - 1970's
  • Made in Japan for Enesco
  • Details:  This is such a cute salt and pepper set!  It is part of a collection of Dutch kids that included a teapot, creamer and sugar, a match holder, wall plaque and perhaps other pieces we've not run into.  This salt and pepper set is hand painted with deep dark navy and soft blue tones, traditional colors for Dutch wares. They both retain their original stoppers.  Although they no longer have the original "Enesco Imports Japan" foil label, they are stamped with the design number E5816 which can be traced back to Enesco.  They also have a silver foil label that reads: "by Adriane Japan".  We're guessing this the artist because we've seen many different Enesco pieces with this same label.
  • Dimensions: 2.5 inches Tall, 2.0 inches Long and 1.5 inches Wide (at its widest point). Both pieces are approximately the same size.
  • Condition:  Vintage - Used.  Excellent Condition.  There are no chips, scratches, or crazing on either piece. Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns.  Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear and imperfections.
Enesco was founded in 1958 in Itasca, IL by its first President, Louis R. "Bob" Miller, Jr., as the import division of N. Shure Company, one of the largest and oldest general merchandise catalog companies. Following N. Shure's sale to Butler Brothers, the import division reorganized as Enesco Corporation, formed from the phonic spellings of the prior parent company's name initials - N.S.Co.  Enesco is best known for its 25 year relationship with Precious Moments creators.  Enesco has enjoyed a long successful business with soaring sales throughout the '70s, '80s, and '90s until its peak in 1997.  They have been through many mergers and acquisitions and today they have over 65 brands and 35 entertainment licenses represented in their products.  As of this writing, we believe they are owned by Balmoral Funds, a Los Angeles, CA based private equity fund which acquired Enesco, LLC in 2015.  Today they continue selling their very popular collections including: Snow Babies, Harry Potter, Disney Traditions, Growing Up Girls, Department 56 and many others.
