This tray-style puzzle illustrates "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep," brought to life by beloved children's illustrator Eulalie Banks for The P&M Co. (later reissued under the full Platt & Munk name in 1952). What makes it especially charming is the piece-cutting itself — rather than standard interlocking shapes, several pieces are cut into recognizable forms straight from the rhyme, making it as much a matching game as a puzzle. Banks, who illustrated more than fifty classic children's books over her long career, gave this piece a warmth that's kept it appealing nearly eighty years later.
