Pink, white, and red peonies in a pewter pitcher. By a British artist. In pristine condition.
This is an original New Old Stock vintage lithograph of peonies in a silver/pewter pitcher — after the original work of British artist William Edward Powell (1878–1955), signed by the artist and marked 4062 Peonies, Litho in U.S.A. Circa 1950s–1960s. Six available. Unframed.
William Edward Powell was a British artist celebrated for his still-life paintings of flowers — particularly his arrangements of mixed blooms in pitchers, vases, and vessels that captured both botanical detail and the warm informality of cut flowers freshly brought indoors. This print features varied peonies in pink, white, and red, loosely arranged in a silver or pewter pitcher with the natural abundance that makes peonies among the most beloved of all cut flowers. The advertisement print series — produced for calendars, thermometers, postcards, and promotional pieces — preserved Powell's work in reproduction form that is now actively collected. New Old Stock, never used, pristine.
A wonderful piece for a floral print collector, a peony enthusiast, a lover of British still-life painting, or anyone decorating a kitchen, dining room, bedroom, or any space that welcomes the beauty of painted flowers.
