William Edward Powell was a British artist celebrated for his still-life paintings of flowers — particularly his arrangements of mixed blooms in pitchers, vases, and vessels that captured both botanical detail and the warm informality of cut flowers freshly brought indoors. This print features varied peonies in pink, white, and red, loosely arranged in a silver or pewter pitcher with the natural abundance that makes peonies among the most beloved of all cut flowers.
