- Pattern: "Pan Am Destination - England"
- Vintage: late 1960's
- Details: Remember the days when airlines gave out playing cards to keep you entertained? Well in 1978 airlines were deregulated and competition increased, as well as costs, so eventually they stopped giving out playing decks. This deck is getting harder to find, it was made by Brown & Bigelow (B&B) for Stancraft (a subsidiary of B&B), after B&B was acquired by Standard Packaging Corp, (1960's), but prior to being acquired by Saxon Industries (1970), so safe to date these to the late 1960's. These are Stardust Nu-Vue cards, which had a "scientifically tinted plastic coating to help reduce eye fatigue by 35%". Pan Am introduced these "Destination Cards" in the late 1960's and early 1970's, this is England. It shows a forest of trees and a lake, not sure what part of England this is. This card deck came from a collector's estate sale, although it has been opened, it's in really good condition, the box still retains a partial plastic wrapping. It is complete with 52 cards each, and two jokers. Perfect for any playing card collector, a retired airline employee, someone who remembers the good old days of flying, or for the pure pleasure of playing with vintage cards.
- Material: Paper
- Dimensions: Approx. 3.5 by 2.25 inches
- Condition: Vintage - Used. Very Good Condition. These cards have been opened but probably never been played with, as these came from a collector. All corners intact, cards are firm, no folds, tears, etc. The box retains the bottom 2/3 of the plastic outer covering. Where there is no plastic covering, the box has started to yellow. Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns.
