- Pattern: Vintage Playing Cards, American Airlines, DH-4 US Mail Plane 1918 - BLUE
- Made by The US Playing Card Co, Cincinnati, OH
- Vintage: 1960's - 1970's
- Details: The US Playing Card Co typically made cards for American Airlines, however, this deck has never been opened, we can't confirm maker. American Airlines has been giving passengers free playing cards since 1944, unfortunately in 1978 airlines were deregulated and competition increased, as well as costs, so eventually they stopped giving out playing decks. The DH-4 airplane was originally designed for WWI combat, after the war the the Post Office bought planes built by the Army and had its inaugural run of the Airmail Service on May 15, 1918. This card deck came from a collector's estate sale, it's never been opened. The box is also sealed in it's original plastic wrapper. Perfect for any playing card collector, a retired airline employee, someone who remembers the good old days of flying. We also carry the red deck for this series, see pictures.
