Look closely for Thumper, small and light blue at the bottom left. The base is embossed with a copyright symbol and "Bambi, Walt Disney Prod." We believe this mark was used from the 1940s until sometime in the 1970s, but this figurine is most likely from the 1940s or 1950s. It works as a planter or cachepot, or simply as a figurine.
A lovely addition to a Disneyana collection, a baby's nursery or a child's room, or a thoughtful gift for a Disney fan.
Disney's Bambi reached theaters in 1942, adapted from Felix Salten's 1923 novel about a young deer growing up in the forest, with the rabbit Thumper as one of its best-loved companions. Through the 1940s and 1950s, Disney licensed its film characters to American makers of ceramics and giftware, and pieces from that period marked Walt Disney Productions are the ones Disneyana collectors seek.
