- Details: This vintage White Spitz dog pinback is a must-have for any vintage pin collector. These cold weather loving dogs were bred for life in arctic climates, originally from countries like Scandinavia, Russia, North America, and Asia, but today mostly known as the German Spitz. The word “spitz” in German means pointed. Did you know that the first design for a pin-back button in the US was patented in 1896? Eventually they became associated with political campaigns, but today there are many different designs, collected either by theme, age, maker, etc. These buttons can be used on book bags, headbands, ID tags some even make jewelry w/them.
