Buster Brown was originally a comic strip character created by cartoonist Richard Outcault, running in the New York Herald from 1902 to 1920. Outcault then sold the rights to multiple companies — most famously to the Buster Brown Shoe Company, which turned the round-faced boy and his dog Tige into one of the most successful advertising campaigns in American retail history. The Brownbilt Club was a loyalty program for Buster Brown customers, where members earned points and special deals.
