  • Artist: Hattie Saville
  • Vintage: circa 1970's - 1980's
  • Details:  This is an ORIGINAL watercolor, NOT print or litho, by Vermont artist Hattie Saville.   The colors are bright and cheerful, and of course the subject matter, a boy and his dog in a red wagon, adorable!!  The boy is wearing a t-shirt that reads:  "I'm Somebody Special" which ties in with the title of the piece.  The watercolor is signed "Hattie Saville".  It is matted and framed.   The frame is old and doesn't do much to showcase the painting, if you're gifting this, consider purchasing a new frame for it or having it professionally framed.
  • Materials: Watercolor Paper, Wood Frame
  • Dimensions:   Frame is 10 5/8 inches Wide by 8 5/8 inches Tall.  Watercolor slightly larger than: 6 7/8 inches Wide by 6 1/2 inches Tall.
  • Condition:  Vintage - Used.  Excellent Condition.  This painting is in great condition, the frame is also in good condition but it's an older frame, nothing wrong with it, just looks "tired".   Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns.  Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear and imperfections.
Hattie Saville was a local Vermont artist.  Not much is written about her, we believe she passed away in the last two or three years.  We know that she studied at the University of Vermont from 1942-1946.  She has received several awards and other recognition including the 1994 NVAA 78th Annual Juried Show, which is a 78-year-old Northern Vermont Artists Association sponsored art show.  Fifteen prizes were given on works in this nearly 100-piece exhibition and Hattie received the Mary Bryan Award for her painting titled “A Voyage Remembered.”  She also gave watercolor painting lessons at a local art studio.
