Painted from behind the glass — a technique that demands you get it right the first time.

A reverse painting on glass in the Hummel tradition: the Goose Girl, dressed in apron and polka-dot kerchief, hiding something behind her back while two geese stretch their necks in hopeful anticipation. Hand painted in Bavaria, Germany, with "Hummel" signed in the lower left — not authentic Hummel merchandise, but a hand-painted work made during the peak of Hummel's popularity in the 1940s–1950s. Sold originally by Elfriede Wohlrath of Furstenfeldbruck, Bavaria — the original paper sticker remains on the back: "Sold by: Elfriede Wohlrath Furstenfeldbruck, Brucker Straße 44." The painting and glass are both in excellent condition. The frame shows its age — scuffs, discoloration, small loose nails between glass and frame, rusted hanging hook. The art is the thing here, and the art is pristine.

For a Hummel collector, a lover of Bavarian folk art, a farmhouse or country interior, or a girl's room that deserves something genuinely old and genuinely charming.
