Santa mid-stride, sack over one shoulder, legs swinging free.
This hand-painted ceramic Santa carries an oversized green sack of gifts, with legs strung separately so they dangle and move. He's a limited edition piece from Mervyn's Holiday Collection — Mervyn's was a California department store chain founded in Hayward in 1949 by Mervin G. Morris, growing to hundreds of stores across the western and southern U.S. before closing its doors in 2008 during the recession. This ornament, dated 2004, is one of the last generations of holiday merchandise the chain produced before it disappeared — not a true vintage piece, but one with real retail history behind it, holding up well two decades on.
Would look right at home displayed alongside our vintage Santa blow mold or cotton-bearded Santa head.
