A tiny antique cottage house in yellow and green, its glass walls paper-thin and silvered with mercury from the inside.

Condition: Very good for its age — the cap is intact but the internal hook has fallen inside the glass and was left in place to avoid damaging it, best for display rather than hanging; very minor color loss. Please review photos closely before purchasing, as all sales are final.

Lauscha, Germany is considered the birthplace of glass Christmas ornaments, dating back to Protestant glassblowers who settled there in the 1590s. By the 1880s, F.W. Woolworth was importing Lauscha glass to the U.S., and at one point nearly all American tree glass traced back to this single town.
