This porcelain bisque train ornament is hand-painted with a sprig of holly on each side and a scatter of blue stars, still bearing its original foil sticker: "Hand Crafted for Silvestri, Made in Taiwan." Silvestri has been in business since the 1970s, growing through several mergers and acquisitions while designing, manufacturing, and importing everything from giftware and tableware to glassware, ceramics, and seasonal collectibles. The brand was previously owned by eToys.com, which sold it to Demdaco in January 2007 — a small piece of retail history riding along with this little train.
