Hallmark Cards began in Kansas City in 1910 and launched its Keepsake Ornament line in 1973. Sculptors such as Ed Seale shape the designs, and collectors prize retired pieces with their boxes.
Jeff Gordon was one of NASCAR's rising stars in 1997, the year he won the Daytona 500 and the Winston Cup championship, and Hallmark chose him to open this series. Highlights of his career appear on the back of the ornament.
