Details: This Italian wood music box is really pretty. It has a violin resting on sheet music and gold and green leaves as backdrop. It is inlay wood with a natural wood stain, and four little brass "feet", all hand made in Sorrento, Italy. The music is "Santa Lucia", a traditional Neapolitan song from the mid 1800's. The song is about a picturesque waterfront district, Borgo Santa Lucia, in the Gulf of Naples, very Italian! On the bottom is the working wind-up key, to the 18-note Sankyo musical movement from Japan to hear the lovely song. These boxes can still be purchased, brand new, from $150 to over $180 dollars each. A great little piece for a side table or desk. Beautiful home decor!
