Orange pyroglaze lettering announces "Symbol of Freshness" on this half-gallon milk bottle from small-town Indiana.
Miller Dairy was founded in 1926 by F. Lote Miller and his cousin in Cambridge City, Indiana, thriving from the mid-1950s until it closed around 1980 as big-box retailers took hold. This half-gallon bottle — the largest size used for home delivery — reads "Miller Milkhouse, Symbol of Freshness" on both sides in bold orange ACL, with a "Deposit Bottle" label on top; base markings date it to 1966.
A wonderful piece for a farmhouse kitchen or dairy advertising collection, and a nostalgic gift for anyone who remembers the milkman.
Pair it with our Miller Dairy half pint and pint bottles for a full set of vintage sizes.
