  • Pattern:  Unknown (Discontinued)
  • Made in Japan by Noritake (Morimura Company of Japan)
  • Vintage: 1920's - 1930's
  •  Details:  This is such a delightful serving dish, once you start using it, you'll wonder how you did without it.  Used in the olden days to serve lemon wedges, would look lovely on a table today when serving tea, iced tea, lemonade, fish dishes, or anything else that calls for a wedge of lemon.  The pattern is gorgeous, a beautiful flower adorned with gold leaves and two blue buds all bordered in gold moriage.  There is a different, smaller pattern on the sides also hand painted in gold.  It has a little loop for carrying, called a finger loop, the little leaf detail at the end of the loop is very pretty. We have two dishes (EACH SOLD SEPARATELY), there is slight variation in the finger loop detail on each, one smooth with lots of gold, the other more detailed but less gold.  See pictures, we cannot guarantee which one you will receive.  Both have the red backstamp from Morimura (M), with the added "US Patent Applied For", we were able to date these between the 1920's to the late 1930's.  Truly a unique piece and useful at the same time.
  • Material:  Porcelain
  • Dimensions:  5.5 inches in Diameter
  • Condition: Vintage - Used. Very Good Condition, no chips or scratches.  Only issue we noticed was wear on the gold "loop" handle and the rim, perfectly acceptable due to age/use/wear.  Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns.  Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear  and imperfections.
Dating Noritake and Morimura Brothers pieces can be overwhelming.  We've gathered some nuggets of knowledge collected through the years to help you understand the dating, value and how we come up with the dates on our pieces.  We know that Noritake and Nippon are both brands that were produced and sold by the Morimura Company of Japan.   This piece has the letter "M" in a wreath mark (for Morimura) which was used between 1914 and 1940.  From the early 1920's to 1940, all their patterns intended for the US market were designed in New York, the "Patent" mentioned on the backstamp was most likely applied for during this time period.
