Georges Briard understood that a well-designed bar was a statement about how you lived.

This faux brown leather ice bucket — with its matching stitching, substantial handle, brass-tone lid ring, and original "A Georges Briard Design" label intact on the base — is a quintessential example of his 1970s aesthetic: warm, tactile, and quietly luxurious. Briard was born Jascha Brojdo in Russia in 1917, emigrated to the US in the 1930s, studied at the University of Chicago and the Art Institute of Chicago, and went on to become one of America's most celebrated barware designers. His pieces graced the bars of the most fashionable American homes and were sold at Neiman Marcus and Bonwit Teller throughout the 1950s–70s. He died in New York in 2005 at 88.

A beautiful gift for the barware collector, the mid-century design enthusiast, or anyone whose bar cart deserves one exceptional piece.
