Rust Craft was founded in 1906 by Fred Winslow Rust in Kansas City, Missouri, and grew into one of the industry's true innovators — credited with the "French fold" card style, the pointed-flap envelope still used today, and some of the first anniversary, graduation, and Braille greeting cards. The company was acquired by Ziff Davis in 1980, then by Windsor Communications in 1981, before ultimately being absorbed by American Greetings. This tender "For My Wife" card, with its dimensional satin heart, is a genuinely scarce survivor from the brand's earlier years.
