- Details: The ever popular King's Crown pattern, (also known as Thumbprint), offered here in the Ruby color with a gorgeous iridescent gold glow. These small cordial glasses feature the traditional ovals and zigzag markings of the King's Crown pattern. There is a long and complicated history of this pattern, originally introduced by Adams Glass Co. during the late 1800's. It became very popular and was copied by other glass manufacturers. Indiana Glass introduced their King's Crown in the late 1950's. In 1961 Colony continued to make this pattern after they merged with Lancaster Glass Corporation (who owned Indiana Glass). We are not experts but based on articles discussing this pattern, we believe these are Indiana Glass: They have straight sides, not flared. They have two mold marks (vs 3 on Tiffin), and have very rounded ovals, vs more rectangular ovals on Indiana. If you are a collector and this is important to you, please review the pictures and make your own determination. We're happy to send additional pictures and answer any questions.
