Details: The ever popular King's Crown pattern, (also known as Thumbprint), offered here in the Ruby color. This small cordial glass features the traditional ovals and zigzag markings of the King's Crown pattern. There is a long and complicated history of this pattern, originally introduced by Adams Glass Co. in 1890-1891. It became a very popular pattern and was copied by other glass manufacturers. We are not experts but based on articles discussing this pattern, we believe this glass is the Adams "X.L.C.R", Ruby Thumbprint flashed. It has a very deep Ruby color unlike all the other ones we carry, without the gold iridescent mixed in with the red. It has slightly flared sides and three mold marks. Dimensions: 3 7/8 (almost 4.0) inches Tall and 2.0 inches in Diameter at its widest point (top).
Condition: Vintage - Used. Good Vintage Condition. There are no cracks or chips, however there is wear on the flashing along the rim and other small areas, acceptable due to age/use/wear. There is also an unusual black shadow on the red flashing, the red is very dark so the mark is hard to see, we tried to photograph it for you.
